Hi there and welcome to the second Clear Artistic Stamps Blog Hop! I hope you are enjoying your little tour of ornaments that the design team has prepared for you!
I made two ornaments that are to be hung into the window of a children’s room. These swirly sparklies are so nice: just some sun rays are enough heat to send them turning this way and that and their sparkle is such fun to watch:
How they were made:
1) Cut 4 open ornaments from heavy duty red/gold shimmer card stock with the cricut. Cart used was Joys of the Season, button 48, ornament/shift at 4.5 inches. I used multicut (2) on these.
2) Cut 2 solid circles at 4.5 inch (ornament.no shift) from acetate.
3) Stamp snowmen from A Sparkles Bright and Happy Holiday on the acetate circles using StazOn ink and let dry. This set is available at the special holiday sale at a greatly reduced price!!
4) Turn acetate over and color the back side with sharpies, red for the hats, light and dark blue for the scarves, orange for the carrot noses. Add some light blue snow on the bottom scribbling back and forth.
5) Turn acetate over again (front) and add some details with white Sakura soufflee pen on the hats and let dry.
6) Using designer-dries-clear glue and art glitter, add glitter to the design from the BACK side. I started with white for the snowmen bodies, blue for the scarves, red for the hats and light blue scribbled over the snow area. You add glue to each area separately, pour on glitter, shake off and then do the next area/color. Let dry for several hours. You can continue when you don’t see any more white glue from the front.
7) Add adhesive to one cricut ornament, add stamped acetate circle and glue second ornament on top to sandwich the acetate in between. Tie a bow with gold ribbon and add a gold thread for a hanger. I also added some soufflee white snowflakes on the front side above the snowmen.
I am also entering these cricut ornaments into the Chirper Challenge Christmas Gifts Challenge
See how nicely this glitters when it is dry:
When working with acetate it is important what medium to keep on which side. Here is a summary:
front: stamping, dimensional paints like soufflee pen
back: glitter, coloring with alcohol marker like sharpie
Leave a comment on this and/or any other designer blog in this hop and you get entered for a chance of winning a grande prize of 9 stamp sets and 10 shimmerz paints:
One entry per blog, but for each comment your name will go into the drawing
The winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 9th at the Cottage Studio .
Now hop on over to Nancy’s Blog to see what she has prepared for you
