do you like music?

I realize that’s an odd question… I DO like music and have at times a bit of an eccentric taste. It took me only 46 years to make Mozart “click” and appreciate it, I think I’m getting soft at my old age…. Bach is still my favorite, now THAT is music. But I must say I went from thinking Mozart is not tolerable to actually turning the volume up when he comes on, so there! Maybe Ava will have it easier in that respect, she loves most classical music, is not sure about Grieg yet LOL.
Here I used a 7gypsies naked CD holder, stamped and covered with Basic Grey paper (sultry).

All stamps used are from the A Little Note set from Clear Artistic Stamps. The “mozart” and “ava” were stamped with a JustRite alphabet and one of the rectangular stampers.
a little note

On the inside I messed around a bit with white and pink ink and stamped in grey…. The back has this wonderful sentiment:

Grandmothers must knit warm sweaters quickly….

baby sweaters

This is a most wonderful knitting pattern, easy raglan top_down with thick yarn, so much fun! The head opening is stretchy and large enough so there is no need for buttons and the roll hems fit very well, see:

…, no I didn’t plug this baby into an outlet, the hair always looks that way ;)
The pattern is from Knitting Pure and Simple and you can find the Baby Pullover #214 most likely at your local yarn store.

is it over?

spring fever

What’s that Lee? ahh, yes, I hear ya, this is Colorado, ok, I’ll try again in say, hmm, 5 months :) LOL…….

Quite an amazing card isn’t it? No layers, no ribbon, no embellisments, no glitter or bling, not even masking! And I LOVE it ;)
Coloring was done in pencils and chalks! All stamps My Favorite Things.

Check this: float my boat! tralalalalaaa, hehe !!

Happy Holidays to ALL!

Count with me, how many times did you make your *last* Christmas card this year? yeah, me too :)

holiday cheer

Crinkled up the gold background layer for this one and inked it sloppily… remember to save those wrapping paper scraps, they are super for card backgrounds/paper piecing and such. No matter how destroyed it all seems, stuff it in a sack and dig in when you are looking for that special piece :)

sunshine, sunshine….

Yes we DO have plenty of sunshine, its just about 20 degrees too cold :(
By the time this is posted I’m probably in vicodin heaven, ugh. More bone implant surgery yesterday, as I am pre_writing this post I’m not sure how it went yet, hehe…
Here is a card that I played with Sunday’s Holiday Challenge on Splitcoast, it had to have scallops, a sentiment, be square and have ribbon, no glitter:

sunshine

As an after thought, I should have done the image on light blue, not kiwi kiss green, but I realized that too late. I used colored pencil right on the green card stock, love how it covers it, then added some shimmer chalks here and there over the pencil background. The girl with flowers and mountains are from I Brake for Stamps, the sentiments are from Papertrey Ink.
Ah yes, and of course some red flower soft sprinkled at the bottom of the image, LOVE that stuff! and it seems to last forever, I think it should be called flower fluff as each time you open the container there is more than before :)

DRS Challenge time!!

Ahh, and we were challenged again :)
the DRS design team was supposed to make some items with BLING on it. Well for me bling means crystals, lots of them! Looking ahead a bit I made my first Valentine’s card of the season:

bling

I used crystals all around the spellbinder’s heart die, stamped some heart swirls in soft pink, added the sentiment and chalked it up a bit. I find the sentiment just right for those friends who you think of but they are too far away to do the chocolate thing, you send them a card! I’ll let you peek inside:

The double heart charm can be found in the wedding aisle at Michaels :)
All stamps are of course DRSdesigns.
Visit the DRS blog to see what the other designers have done with bling!

Two quickie cards for the (adult) kids, bit of fun and insider teasing which I won’t share but you can see the cards….

christmas fairie

Lots of fairy dust on these (artglitter, quickie glue pen) and both are colored identical with their hair being Golden Wheat, skin is Butter Cream, clothing in Celery and wings are Angel Wings shimmerz paints over grey pencil. Top card’s fairy hat and skirt are colored pencil and puffy white paint for trim.

christmas fairy too

All stamps are from Faerie Song Art Stamps .
