As promised, here is another batch of ATCs that I made from one of the previously prepared background pieces. These were from the blue and gold large pieces which I cut apart to yield a bunch of ATC sized ones that were somewhat similar. I used DRS stamps for decoration. Here are the bare pieces with only some stars stamped and embossed on their tops:
After I figured out that they look a lot better with the gold part on the bottom and the darker blue part on top everything fell into place easily.
Now the bottoms look a bit like a landscape to me. I used only part of the snowmen stamps because they were a bit tall to fit on the ATC. Come closer:
Isn’t it cute how they peek into the “scene” and wave at the viewer? For more details how its done, visit my post on the DRS blog today
Yesterday I decided on a whim that I really wanted to play with the Technostampers and used the current TSSC41 for this card:
Stamps are from the Geek is Chick plate from Artistic Outpost. I just love this set, geeky is cool
The red in the card is a bit darker than my camera tries to make you believe, we are still on trying-out terms when it comes to taking a picture of anything red!
The sentiment is SO true and Albert should know anyway…
ArtisticOutpost is looking for a new Guest Designer for their upcoming releases. Would it not be fun to have brand new images to play with before they are out?? Go for it!
Its not winter yet….
DRSdesigns has a sketch challenge up on their blog. After playing all weekend with Christmas ATCs (yes, there are more to come) I was in a very summer/beach sort of mind set. Not sure why, but I knew I wasn’t going to do another Christmas card with this!
I’d call this a “notecard” because it was so very quick and fun to do. A few subtle distress colors for the background stamping and coloring of the birds, some sponging on the panels and I was done! Yes I turned the sketch sideways. All stamps are from DRSdesigns. To see what the rest of the design team did with the sketch visit the DRSblog .

In my post below, there were a bunch of tiny pieces all along the right edge, ATC sized ![]()
See who is waiting so patiently for me to dibble and dabble to get their backgrounds done:
Aren’t they cute? Koh-i-noor pencil and gamsol.
Then finally after assembly:
I used my new “flower soft” on these in the color “vintage Christmas”, what yumm fun! Almost as messy as glitter but I don’t think it flies and sticks everywhere like glitter. A little goes a long way! Great stuff! A bit closer? of course!
All stamps are from the Papertreyink “Believe” set, I really like that simple santa! These are for my first ever ATC swap!! A bit nervous, but I do like the way they came out.
Nothing finished to show here today, my mind is a bit distracted with *other* things….
But I did mess around in the kitchen big time today and made some backgrounds. They are still drying slooooowly and I can’t wait to use them.
I used my favorite water technique that some call cling and scrunch. Used shimmer paints like Lumiere and lots of water on cheapo deluxe watercolor paper. The top_most sheet still has the saran wrap on it. I love how the paper structure comes through with this. Lumiere and other shimmer paints will separate somewhat into their shimmer and color parts when you dilute them with water, so shimmer green for instance will become green and gold stripes. I just never tire of watching this! How about a close-up?
Delicious, isn’t it??
awwww, this stamp is just wonderful, now that IS cute isn’t it??
That “cute” stamp is from Sarah Kay. See, I do like cute people stamps but I am not likely to stamp somebody that has no face or mouth, that just looks disturbing to me. This one is perfect! I can deal with headless women, that’s funny, you all know who I mean
Papers are from basic grey (euphoria), sketch is today’s SC199 and colored with koinoor pencils and gamsol, simple as that.
This was only the second time this stamp has seen an ink pad, read some babble about “prepping clear stamps” in the forum .
